Momma Goose has no filter hahaha. Yes! You are invited into the Find-Michele-A-Husband referral program. I'll even throw in a wedding invite to the winner.
That was a big grinner all the way through. This article is a lesson in online vulnerability that isn't cringe. Humor goes a long way in that department. Well done!
Thank you so much Rick, I'm glad it made you smile! I really appreciate now how tough it is to balance vulnerability, humor and avoid crossing into cringe.
I’m always intrigued by the conflict between love marriages and arranged ones- on one extreme, we have these dating apps where we shop for people and get turned off by the slightest icks, and on the other side, two strangers can meet for two weeks, marry and have fulfilling marriages
I agree, it's interesting to have one opinion on arranged marriages and then see how the landscape for dating has changed. My general opinion is both can be good or bad. There's so many other things at play which is always a helpful perspective to have.
Maybe you'll find a partner through your writing :O
When I write online, I'm surprised at some of the vulnerable and deep things I share. Writing allows the sharing of ideas that don't translate well to conversation or dating profiles lol.
Hi Erwin, thank you for your comment! I have to say, you are on to something. While I'm still looking, I do find that writing this essay has probably brought me better leads than any dating profile. No shade to dating apps, but I think to your point, writing lets you process and share so much more than a quick response to a prompt. Maybe we are on to something, Substack needs to launch their dating site 😂
I see you're on Medium as well, following you there now. I've even proposed having a conference for Medium writers, I think some writers do Meetups too.
Thank you for following me there! I am no longer in Austin, I moved a couple years ago now but hopefully I'll get a chance to visit again. It's a lovely city!
I smiled all the way through this. Absolute perfection! I'll be on the lookout for you too --- the referral bonus is just too enticing to pass up hahahaha :D
Thank you Joshua! You sound like my friends who felt they had no shot if they had to convince someone to move near me. Luckily, I myself am planning to leave town soon and I am open to move anywhere.
😆 I’d have much better luck looking for someone’s who’s already here. And I’m not going to lie, Austin is looking like a real option every day! Everybody is in Austin right now!
Thank you so much Sam! That tweet is perfect here. Personally, I thought no one would be more qualified to sing my virtues than my friends. LOL the cohort based course + community really made me laugh. I agree, if things work out I could really start a great business *I mean* enjoy the joys of having a life partner.
I love that you raised the stakes to get your friends to help haha, what a great strategy! This was really fun to read =) I hope you have a sequel for us soon!
Thank you so much Elizabeth! Haha I hope I do too, hopefully writing this essay will manifest a life partner for me. I already told my friends that the people are rooting for me now.
Hahahahahaha. A rollicking treat to read! Men would be lucky to date you: what are y’all doing @men??? Line yourselves up!
Also: what a fab title. :)
hahaha I appreciate YOU! I agree, I need to screenshot this and send to all my friends.
I'm glad you liked the title too ❤️
Kinda feel like I should be on the lookout too. 😆 And no, you don’t have to name your firstborn after me. 😉
Hahaha please do, I trust your judgement! The Find-Michelle-A-Husband referral program is open for business.
Reading this from India and I find the parent thing so relatable lol.
Super excited to what comes next ☺️
haha Shivam I am sure you can relate! Thank you, I am hoping for the best this year.
“Maybe he just doesn't want to have kids with her.”
Mom is zesty. Also....valid point. lol
Can I get in on this $1,000???
Momma Goose has no filter hahaha. Yes! You are invited into the Find-Michele-A-Husband referral program. I'll even throw in a wedding invite to the winner.
haha, too good!
Love this idea, I'm going to get my friends sold on this for me.. Unless.....Hi I'm Shubham. ;)
hahaha if I was four years younger Shubham! Trust me, your friends will be into it. We are all just waiting to tap into our inner aunties.

This whole piece was hilarious. Love it!

Fun and clever Michelle! What a great strategy haha
And I have a few sensual latin friends if you're into that 😂

Thank you Helen :) hahaha please do!
Lol love this Michelle!
😂🥰 thank you Leslie!
Very entertaining! I’m kind of confused about the logistics of what you’re looking for though - is the hope that the guy will move to your town?
Thank you Joshua! You sound like my friends who felt they had no shot if they had to convince someone to move near me. Luckily, I myself am planning to leave town soon and I am open to move anywhere.
Hahaha you would have been driving a hard bargain :P
I unapologetically pitch Austin as your next destination!

Loved this story and idea. reminded me of this tweet: https://twitter.com/heynibras/status/1620864075201941504?s=46&t=x6yTEMC8zE0-gjIT-fRwug
and after you get married in 2024, you can launch the rearranged marriage cohort course and community :)
